Welcome to the official website of the International Airport Development Company Limited (IADCL). The IADCL is a private limited liability company wholly owned by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It was incorporated under the Companies Act of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The company's mandate is to spearhead and coordinate all matters relating to the financing and construction of the Argyle International Airport and arranging for the effective management of the airport on its completion. Work on the Argyle International Airport began shortly after the Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves's historic speech on August 8th, 2005. In that speech, the Prime Minister sets out the government's commitment to the airport project and how the project is to be financed.
The installation of equipment in several buildings at the Argyle International Airport (AIA), particularly the Passenger Terminal Building, got going in June. Since its completion in December 2013, the Passenger Terminal Building has seen significant retrofitting work to have it ready for operation.
Work on the spanning of the Yambou River or the 220 channel got going in September 2014 with the excavation of the river bed. The first piece of metal culvert was laid on Tuesday, January 27th 2015, and up to June 25th, 2015, 4,840 pieces have been installed with 180 pieces remaining to be installed.
